The match started a little after the proposed 2:30 start but the weather was bright and sunny and everyone was in good spirits. Eastbourne AM won the toss and elected to field. The opening partnership of Lulham and son (John and Martin) got us off to a good start. Martin made 9 before being bowled whilst Lulham senior showed that experience counts going on to make 32 before retiring. Rod Davidson made 22 before retiring as the as the number of overs was reduced so as not to delay tea, Ian Baker, Steve Hayes, Tom Brown, and Tim Preston batted out the 20 overs to take the innings total to 134 altho' the highest score was 43 extras. A wonderful tea was provided by the Ladies one of the best ever said to the the players and supporters, it was too good to resist and I'm sure it slowed down some of the players during the second part of the match!
