Welcome to Hailsham Rotary Club

New President for Hailsham Rotary Club 2009 - 2010
Hailsham Rotary Club has appointed a new President for the year 2009/2010. The office is now to be held by Francis Hodge who has been a member of the Club for 8 years and he will be the 72nd President of the Club.

Francis lives in Lower Dicker with his wife Mary and they have two adult children Christopher and Juliet.

Francis and Mary moved to Lower Dicker from Eastbourne in order to relocate his business which is an exhibition contracting firm specializing in modular shell schemes and stage sets.

Francis is now semi-retired but can still be seen on occasions designing exhibition stands for some long standing clients.
Francis is a keen cyclist and often leads Rotary cycling tours of northern France where Clubs in that country are visited. He and his wife Mary also have a flock of 40 breeding ewes on the land adjoining their house and their “show” bantams can always be seen strutting around the grounds. Francis also has a keen interest in planning issues in Wealden and its effect on the local economy.
Each year the President chooses a charitable theme which he recommends that the Rotary Club supports. This year Francis has chosen “Men’s Health” and part of the proceeds from the Golf Day which is organized annually by Hailsham Rotary Club will be used in supporting both national and local prostate cancer research charities.

Francis Hodge, the newly elected President of Hailsham Rotary Club, said “Hailsham Rotary is important to me both as a group of friends, and as a group that is putting both service and money back into our community. I am very proud to have been chosen as President for this year.”
